Dr. Tracy Vaillancourt, FRSC
Panelist

 

Dr. Tracy Vaillancourt is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in School-Based Mental Health and Violence Prevention at the University of Ottawa where she is cross-appointed as a full professor in Counselling Psychology, Faculty of Education and the School of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. Dr. Vaillancourt is also a member of the Brain and Mind Institute, Faculty of Medicine and the Centre for Health Law, Policy, and Ethics, Faculty of Law, uOttawa. She is the president of the International Society for Research on Aggression, a fellow and Chair of the COVID-19 Task Force for the Royal Society of Canada, and the Chief Editor, Frontiers in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry – Child Mental Health and Interventions. 

Dr. Vaillancourt holds a Canada Soccer National B Licence and National Youth Licence. She is a Coach Developer with Canada Soccer and Ontario Soccer, a provincial head coach and scout with Ontario Soccer, and a member of Ontario Soccer’s Technical Advisory Committee. 

Carrie Campbell
Panelist

 

Carrie started her career in sports administration in 2003 after graduating from Brock University. She began assisting with the beach tour and the Spikes on the Road Tour before becoming a full-time staff member in 2004 as an Indoor Program Coordinator. Since then, she has moved on to manage the Indoor Program and Special Events for the organization. She has seen the organization grow from administering programs for roughly 200 registered teams to currently 1080+ teams and has been an integral part of the Ontario Championship Delivery team since its inception in 2008.

Volleyball Canada has also called upon Carrie and the OVA’s Event Delivery team to host National Championships, both indoor and beach. Not only has she seen the growth of the OVA, but she has also been a part of many of the changes needed to address the growing demands of the organization. She has been apart of the creation of a club application process, implementation or Respect in Sport requirements, application of inclusivity policies and purple card procedures, just to name a few. 

Farkhunda Muhtaj
Panelist

 

Farkhunda Muhtaj is an Afghan-Canadian professional footballer and social activist. She is the Captain of the Afghanistan Women’s National Team and plays for Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch Eredivisie. 

She is the co-founder of Scarborough Simbas, a non-profit organization that uses sport to help ease the settlement journey of refugees and newcomers to Canada, the Respect and Inclusion Ambassador at the Respect Group, a humanitarian ambassador for Penny Appeal Canada and UNHCR Netherlands, a global ambassador for Womenforwomen International, and also serves on the board of League 1 Ontario’s women’s soccer committee and the Canadian Child Rights in Sports Advisory Committee. 

Bruno Gervais
Panelist

 

Bruno began his professional career playing 13 years of pro hockey in over 400 games for multiple NHL teams.

Since then, he has been with The Respect Group, is the President and Governor of the Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois and his hockey structure including teams U13,U15,U17,U18.

Bruno also lends his professional expertise as a hockey analyst with RDS and TSN radio.
